Hiking at Celeste River at Tenorio National Park

This is one of the most incredible places in Costa Rica, a magnificent river with turquoise waters.

There are two options:

  • The first option is a walk of approximately 3 hours, which is 7 km ( 4.3 miles)Along the way, we will come to several sites of interest, starting with a visit to the magical waterfall of the Celeste River, followed by the Blue Lagoon, formed by a calm river breach, and also the teñideros wich is the dyeing pits, where you can see the different shades of water from aquamarine, light blue, turquoise, to deep blue. The flora is very varied, with a high diversity of palms, heliconias, ferns, bromeliads and orchids, among others and the fauna that can be found: Lion, Tapir, Pelican, Ocelot, Guatuza,  and snakes.
  • The second option is a hiking of 1 hour and 45 minutes, to the blue water waterfall, where we can see local flora and fauna.
